South Pointe Ballet is very excited to be producing a new ballet this year. We want to give dancers a new and exciting experience so this winter we are presenting "Les Sylphides" and "Four Sea Interludes" in a two act ballet for all ages.
Act one: Four Sea Interludes. This is an all new ballet created specifically for South Pointe Ballet by director Angela Curtis. Dancers will take the audience on a journey under the sea as they explore what life is like in the big ocean blue. With sea creatures, rolling waves and a storm at sea there are many roles available for this exciting new ballet. (Dancers do not need pointe experience)
Act two: Les Sylphides. This classic ballet is a "romantic reverie". Les Sylphides explores the mood of dance. The cast consists of several white-clad magical creatures called sylphs dancing with the "poet" or "young man" in the moonlight. (Pointe work will be prevalent in this piece)
